What is Your Easter Tradition?

By Janet Hanson On April 10, 2009 No Comments

What is your Easter tradition?

For some, Easter means attending the Sunrise church service to worship their Risen Lord followed by a family dinner.

For others, Easter includes Easter Egg Hunts. My family has enjoyed the hometown annual Easter Egg Hunt at the city park with thousands of brightly colored hard boiled eggs that have been “hidden” by the men’s club. Others may choose to hide candy-filled eggs in their own back yard or inside of the house.

For others, Easter means wearing their new “Easter clothes” as they change from winter apparel to the new Spring wardrobe.

Here is a homebaked treat that is sure to be a favorite and is a reminder to all ages of the good news of Easter: There is nothing inside….”He’s risen!”

These “Resurrection Buns” are a tasty way to celebrate and share the Easter story. Baking a marshmallow into bread dough covered in cinnamon sugar makes the most delicious empty tomb you’ll ever eat.

Ingredients:
* Frozen bread dough rolls (thawed)
* One bag of large marshmallows
* Cinnamon-sugar mixture
* Butter (melted)

Directions:
* Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
* Separate thawed bread dough into squares
* Gently wrap each square around 1 marshmallow forming a ball
* Dip the ball into the melted butter and then roll it in the cinnamon-sugar mixture
until covered.
* Place on cookie sheet and bake at 325 for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.
* Allow buns to cool.

The buns that were full when they went into the oven will now be empty - like the tomb.

Enjoy and share!

Happy Easter to all.

How to make Residual Bills equal Residual Income!!

By Janet Hanson On March 26, 2009 No Comments

Everybody knows about Residual Bills, right?

It’s those bills everyone has: the electric bill, the phone bill, the cable bill, the internet bill, the rent or mortgage…everyone has them. They come in regularly. They are payable regularly. They are due whether you are working or not. Most are paid unconsciously….bill arrives, check is written.

Have you Heard about Residual Income?

It’s that income that comes in regularly…weekly, monthly, quarterly.
It’s the income that comes in regardless of whether you are “punched in on the clock” or not.

Most people have Linear Income. Linear Income comes from a JOB. You trade your time for money. Punch in on the clock, earn money. Punch out, stop earning money. Sell your service, get paid. No sale? No commission.

Residual Income is when you do the work right one time and get paid over and over and over again for the work you did. Residual Income comes in even after you die. You can “will” Residual Income to your children.

How do You earn Residual Income?

There are several ways: (1) There’s interest on investments or savings or (2) there’s writing a hit book series like J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter or Elvis Presley’s many hit songs. Don’t have any of those?

Good news….there is Network Marketing and Direct Selling. It has been around for years…you’ve probably heard of some of these businesses: Watkins, Amway, Avon, MaryKay.

Now with the internet and your phone, you can create Residual Income quite easily. You don’t have to sell vitamins or lotions or the latest energy drink. You can earn residual income FROM those Residual Bills everyone has!!!

Schedules…Family Time and Work Time

By Janet Hanson On March 26, 2009 No Comments

When many, if not most, people begin their careers in Network Marketing, they start out part-time. They still have a full time job so they must put in extra “work time” on the computer after they clock out of their traditional J.O.B. It is rather like having a second job.

Some people are able to schedule their Network Marketing business around their “job” and their family with great success. Others unfortunately put their family “on HOLD.” They get home from work and immediately start “work” on the computer, often immersing themselves in their business that they neglect their family.

In the beginning it might seem necessary to do it that way. But, I would encourage you to treat your Network Marketing business as a business. Schedule time to work at it. When the time you have scheduled for your Network Marketing is up, log off and just “BE” a member of your family. Schedule time for your Family and Friends. My husband and I like to have “date night” so we can look forward to our night out.

It is a good idea to have your family’s “blessing” on your new endeavor. If they understand that you will be unavailable during a set time because you are working on your internet business, BUT you will be available when that set time is up, they will be more than happy to work with you.

Below is a story that may bring the point into more clarity…..one never knows what the future holds….so cherish your family as you build your business. Find one that you can easily get into profit with rather than work endlessly….

BEING A MOTHER

After 21 years of marriage, my wife wanted me to take another woman out to dinner and a movie.

She said, ‘I love you, but I know this other woman loves you and would love to spend some time with you.’

The other woman that my wife wanted me to visit was my Mother, who has been a widow for 19 years, but the demands of my work and my three children had made it possible to visit her only occasionally.

That night I called to invite her to go for dinner and a movie. “What’s wrong, are you well?” she asked. My mother is the type of woman who suspects that a late night call or a surprise invitation is a sign of bad news.

“I thought it would be pleasant to spend some time with you,” I responded. “Just the two of us.” She thought about for a moment, and then said, “I would like that very much.”

That Friday after work as I drove over to pick her up, I was a bit nervous. When I arrived at her house, I noticed that she, too, seemed to be nervous about our date.

She waited at the door with her coat on. She had curled her hair and was wearing the dress that she had worn to celebrate her last wedding anniversary. She smiled from a face that was as radiant as an angel’s.

“I told my friends that I was going to go out with my son, and they were impressed,” she said as she got into the car. “They can’t wait to hear about our meeting.”

We went to a restaurant that, although not elegant, was very nice and cozy. My mother took my arm as if she were the First Lady.

After we sat down, I had to read the menu. Her eyes could only read large print. Halfway through the entrees, I lifted my eyes and saw Mother sitting there staring at me. A nostalgic smile was on her lips.

“It was I who used to have to read the menu when you were small,” she said. “Then it’s time that yo relax and let me return the favor,” I responded….

During the dinner, we had an agreeable conversation nothing extraordinary but catching up on recent events of each other’s life. We talked so much that we missed the movie. As we arrived at her house later, she said, ‘I’ll go out with you again, but only if you let me invite you.’ I agreed.

“How was your dinner date?” my wife asked when I got home. “Very nice, much more so than I could have imagined,” I answered.

A few days later, my mother died of a massive heart attack. It happened so suddenly that I didn’t have a chance to do anything for her.

Sometime later I received an envelope with a copy of a restaurant receipt from the same place Mother and I had dined. A note attached said: “I paid this bill in advance. I wasn’t sure that I could be there; but, nevertheless, I paid for two plates –one for you and the other one for your wife. You will never know what that night meant for me. I love you, son. Love, Mother”

At that moment I understood the importance of saying in time: “I LOVE YOU” and to give our loved ones the time they deserve. Nothing in life is more important than your family. Give them the time they deserve, because these things cannot be put off until some ‘other’time…

Take time for your family TODAY! Remember to tell them You LOVE them. Spend time with them. Treat your Business like a business….schedule time to work it and then be done.

Web 2.0 & Social Media Marketing Defined

By Janet Hanson On March 26, 2009 No Comments

Social Media” basically means “user generated content.” The actual users of the Web sites are the ones who contribute the content of the site.

Actually there have been “bulletin board sites” and “discussion forums” or “message boards” that were used by like-minded groups of people ever since the 1980s. These were the original “social media” sites.

But today, the new Social Media trend has put those early social sites on Steroids! Social Marketing has been elevated to a whole new level. The new social media tsunami, better known as “Web 2.0” is an internet marketer’s people magnet.

Why Web 2.0?

They call it Web 2.0 as an analogy to software and applications. There have been a couple upgrades to this movement:

Web 1.0 was static. Web site owners, or “webmasters” were the ones who provided the content and you as a viewer had little options other than being a reader of that content. Viewers were just Passive readers.

Web 2.0 introduced the ability for the readers of the content to contribute to the creation, growth and syndication of that content. You can add profiles, videos, pics, articles, comments and a whole lot more. It’s interactive and you have power to mold the site to suit you and your interests.

You or anyone else for that matter, can publish your own blogs and comment on other people’s blogs and you can meet and network with other people and make connections with like-minded people all over the world. You’re now a participant on the World Wide Web and your voice and contributions matter.
The social networking impact of the Web 2.0 internet has created millions of internet based villages, or communities where like-minded people network and build relationships… they share, return, and carry on discussions and they become an important part of a person’s daily routine.

One of the newer sites that is the rage now is Twitter. Even President Obama and many news agencies use it.

Some other Examples of Popular Social Media Properties Online:

Myspace, Facebook, Zenzuu
-Personal networking communities

Digg- News syndication site. People submit their news stories here and rate.

YouTube
- People upload and share video content

HubPages- People create minisites to share content on a variety of topics

Photobucket - People share photos as well as graphics

The list is enormous and is growing daily. Some are huge sites of general interest, while others are micro sites which are very “niche-specific” like Scrapbook.com and similar focused social media sites.

Social Media Marketing has quickly become a mandatory component to an legitimate Attraction Marketing strategy.

It is a free way to get seen, create a buzz, brand yourself, gain search engine viability through backlinks to your main marketing site and to generate Targeted traffic to your online sales funnel.
